BOBBIE EAKES TO BE 2017 ‘EVENING UNDER THE STARS’ MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES

Gala To Raise Funds for Nutritional Support Programs

PALM SPRINGS – April 26, 2017: Emmy nominated actress, singer and television host Bobbie Eakes will be the Mistress at the 24th annual Evening Under the Stars gala on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the O’Donnell Golf Club in Palm Springs. A benefit for AAP – Food Samaritans (AAP), the event will raise funds to support AAP’s ongoing nutritional support programs.

A full time resident of Palm Springs, Bobbie Eakes has a long career in acting, performing and hosting. She portrayed Macy on The Bold and The Beautiful for 14 years until 2003 when she moved to New York to portray Krystal on All My Children. This role won her two Emmy nominations for Lead Actress, adding to her numerous credits in primetime TV shows like Cheers, Falcon Crest, JAG and 21 Jump Street and scores of television commercials. Bobbie’s many television hosting credits include GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, SOAPnet’s Daytime Emmy’s Live from the Red Carpet, Food Network specials and as a guest VJ for MTV.

Bobbie enjoys performing at The Purple Room while also lending her talents to various local charity functions throughout the year. Bobbie is also a regular entertainment headliner on many cruise ships including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess and Holland America. She and her husband, actor David Steen, are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

Evening Under the Stars gala festivities will begin with a ‘quintessentially Palm Springs’ sunset cocktail hour on the grounds of the O’Donnell Golf Club against a backdrop of the majestic San Jacinto Mountains, widely regarded as one of the most festive cocktail receptions of the season. A short awards program will recognize a few inspirational honorees, followed by a delicious dinner, and a performance by Martha & the Vandellas. After their show, dancing will continue with DJ Jerry Bonham on the main stage followed by an amazing fireworks display. Tickets for the benefit, priced at $395 and $500 per person, are available for purchase and individual VIP seats and sponsorships are also available.
